What are we?
We're an online platform that facilitates regular deliveries of consumable items from Kiwi suppliers to customers within New Zealand on a subscription basis.
We're here for shoppers who are seeking to improve organisation in their homes or offices, to reduce time spent buying consumables, and to easily access products with a sustainable, ethical ethos. See how it works >>

Where are we?
We come in the form of a website. Our physical head office is located in Canterbury, New Zealand.
What makes us different to other online resellers?
Firstly - SortU is operated by three busy Kiwi women who want to help others find more time in their day. Reducing time on errands is our number one goal.
We're also passionate about promoting Kiwi business. We provide a platform that supports Kiwi owned or NZ associated suppliers.
And of course we want to do our part to promote sustainable consumption, to improve people’s wellbeing and the impact that consumerism has on our environment and future generations. So we focus on working with suppliers who aim to reduce waste and minimise their impact on the environment.
Our sustainability commitment
We are committed to reducing waste, and keeping our carbon footprint as small as practically possible. We reduce waste and carbon production within our own operations, and choose to support suppliers who have a commitment to reducing their waste and carbon footprint.
Our policy is to avoid plastic wrap on any product that is distributed by SortU, and to work with suppliers who can offer plastic free shipping, or the most environmentally conscious packaging available for their product. Our shipping labels are home compostable.
We reduce paper use by offering digital forms and communication whenever possible.
We use NZ Post who has achieved a carbon zero rating for their person to person deliveries and is striving to be completely carbon zero by 2030.
We offer shoppers the opportunity to donate to a registered New Zealand Charity that promotes a healthy environment for us in New Zealand (Charity and collections to begin after launch).
We list products on our website that are in demand, and offer consumers an opportunity to reduce their consumption of unsustainable materials, reduce their waste (plastic or otherwise), reduce pollution, and promote reusing and refilling.
Individual suppliers will have their own sustainability plans and causes. We offer them a platform to share their passions on our website. We look for suppliers who choose ethical and fair relationships, and have products that are of quality and good value.
We will not list products that are shipped to shoppers from outside of New Zealand at the time of order. Some suppliers will import their products from overseas as part of their production process (NZ has a lot, but not everything!).
Our commitment to wellbeing
For many, the condition of the environment around them affects their state of wellbeing. So it makes sense to be environmentally friendly in everything we do.
The owners of SortU are personally committed to promoting wellbeing within our team, families and people around us.
There is an ever increasing challenge to maintain a healthy work-life balance, and owning a business can make that even harder.
The concept for SortU was partly borne of a desire to reduce the number of decisions people need to make on a daily basis and free up their time (and their headspace!) to do what's important to them.
We make every effort to consider our team and promote personal wellbeing. We do this by having a supportive, flexible workplace, flexible work hours and by not over committing!
